You know what? I don't believe a Ford/Merc C6 automatic was available until 1966. And then it was kind of mixed as to which vehicles were so blessed. The Fairlane GTA and Cyclone counterpart got the C6 with the selectshift valve body that became standard in '67. Police Apps with the 428PI got the C6 in '66. I think some 7 Litres got the C6 too. These last two were with the old shift pattern(green dot, etc.) valve body. So a '63 C6? I don't think so. I've never even seen a '65 Ford product with a C6. All C6s are cast with the bell housing. Cruisomatics had a seperate bell/torque convertor housing. So dust off those part numbers and see if you can figure out what you've got. I know if it's Cruiso, don't install it in your Cougar. |
