Timing

What kind of distributer do you have?
Vacuum or mechanical advance?
I don't recommend setting timing based on vacuum, because it will run a lot smoother and faster with more advance on a mech. advance dist.
I have an FE with msd pro-billet distributer- super conducter wires-digital 6 ignition-accel coil.
It will idle the best and have most vacuum with 24 degrees advance. When you drove and pushed the gas down it would ping like crazy. I just tested it like that and now just running 12 degrees advance, with a worse idle but no detonation.
