ok here goes. i dont know this first hand but i try and read everything a i can posibly find on old fords and especially FE's. there was a article in mustangs and fast fords about it. there were several cars. none with a 427. there was different cars for different stunts. jumps, chase sceans and so on. from what the article says. there was only one real shelby that never seen the silver screen. that car happended to be a sheby with a 427 s. oiler. from what i understand he moded it after the movie to look like it. also not to hurt anyones feeling most of the cars where 351 crate engines, which would make sense. i do in fact have the article. so ill try and scan it tomarrow. ill try and have it up befor the end of the week. someone email me and remind me. cause im at work right now.
oh ya the only car that had an FE in it was the clunker in the end.
