What i've read on the forums is that the C8AE-H heads are not quite as good ( perfomance wise) as the original heads that came on a 1966 Fairlane GT ..I've had the car for 3 years now so when the time comes to re-build/replace i'am not sure as to what to do..i'am not a mechcanic..in a perfect world i'd like to have the original motor but.. figuring that all FE 390 blocks are basically the same?....getting the corect heads would be a step in the right direction......I want the same performance i remember 25 years ago with my 1st '66 GTA...the car has a 428cj intake and 428 cj exhaust manifolds on it now ( no they don't bolt up right with the C8AE-H heads...theres bolt holes on the heads that don't match up to the exhaust) <~so I would have to re-place the exhaust too .... Basically..are original "R" heads i've read about that much better than C8AE0-H heads with the emission "stuff"?? thats all i can think of now ...really not awake yet! |
