Thought I would publish these numbers just in case anyone out there is interested. 427 Sideoiler block .030 with flat top pistons and 10. to1 comp using Unported Medium Riser Heads, Stock 2 4's intake & stock jetted 3300 & 3301 (BC,BD Carbs)only thing added was a set of 1 3/4 Hooker headers and good exhaust using Dyno Max Race Magnum mufflers. Camshaft used was the 425/427 Cam from Crane. 420lb ft @ 4000 Rpm & 399.6 HP @ 5500 to 5750Rpm Of course these are At the rear wheel numbers. So much for the rated 425hp. This was done just yesterday with a Barometric pressure of 28.9 & ambient air temp of 93deg F. engine was running a little warm and of course very warm engine compt heat going into carbs (with aircleaner on) so numbers probably would be a fair bit better having cooler air (it touched 100deg here today first time this year)If anyone is interested in more details let me know. Very Interesting Forum here! Just love those 427's Have any of you read the new Muscle Car Review Mag with the first ever 11sec 1/4 in stock appearing? I am taking my 17,000 mile original "R" code car which is 1 of 6 built to the strip for the first pass ever for this car since new, as has never seen the strip. I will be using the stock F-70x14 Firestone Wide Oval tires. Any guesses as to what it will run? Stock 3.89 gearing,(have added a posi) Arthur H. |
