Thanks Ed for the info on these great carbs. What you have related here flys in the face of numerous articles published on the Autolite 4100. There were Carter AFBs used on various late '50s Ford V-8 apps. as well, i.e., late '57 312s, early '58 332/352s and some T-birds. However, what I want to ask is how do you identify which 4100 Autolite does a person have? I know about the 1.12 cast into/on the front float "bowl" portion of the 600 CFMs. I also know about the 1.08 stamped on the 480s. Are these numbers any indication of what you have? I've understood that's the easiest way to identify a 600 CFM vs. 480. Another feature of the early 4100, 1.12, was that Holley jets are interchangeable. That's not true with later 4100s I believe. Thanks again. I like these carbs a lot. Have run them on numerous applications. I just need to know what to look for when hunting one of those rare 669s at the swap meet. |
