If you like, it works for you, and you don't intend to do any serious pounding with it, keep the 352. They're a good engine for trucks, regardless of what people might tell you (the bigger is better theory :) ) Ultimately the choice is yours, this is JMO as I've got a 390 in my `69 F100. That's what's in there, so that's what I use.

As far as I know, you're probably correct on the lower compression for trucks. Everything I've learned from reading sources, and otherwise, shows the trucks with about .5 - 1.0 difference in standard engines. This is a guesstimate as I don't have any info handy.

High riser heads are very tall, with very wide valves, and putting them next to a standard head, you can't miss the difference. Best way to look for them, is by casting #'s. BTW: you wont be able to use them without the highrise intake. The intake/head mating surface is a different angle then with the standard low/medium riser. Again, don't have the specs handy, but I know you can't do it.

Built right, you can get decent low/mid range power and torque out of your 352, and you'll get a little better mpg compared to a 390. Alot of that depends on the tranny and geering, too. Can't help you with that aspect, as I'm just learning that stuff.

One thing I've been told, By more than a few people, is with tall gears (like my 3.25's) and a C6, a wide ratio setup in the tranny is the way to go, if you have a good low-end built into the engine. It makes it better/stronger off the start, without the hesitation. Kind of like a shift kit will do, but more durable, responsive, and less prone to causing problems in the valve body.

Hope this helps!
