Very well said Mike. Your opinion was shared by many owners of the Fairlanes in that day. I still think that for the $1129.00 that Ford charged for the 427 - 8V and four speed the Ford car buyers really got their money$ worth. Unfortunately the dealers and Ford were not interested in promoting anything other than the Mustang and Cougar lines.
I've had a few 390 "stangs and mid-size Ford GTs and once you put some decent gears, a 780 Holley and headers they came alive like you wouldn't believe! I love 'em.
