Original Message

Someone converted it to use a cam retention plate.

When did Ford start using the cam plate? I thought it was mid-1963, but am not sure. This engine has the phillips head screws used to mount a cam retention plate.

I wonder if the original holes were simply tapped by a hotrodder to hold the screws, or if the block was originally machined for the cam retention plate.
