A lot of supposed 390's are really 360's from 70's era pickups. Look just the same on the outside, but has 352 stroke and wrong cast numbers for 390 resto's (though stronger main webbing block). That era head also has too large combustion chamber (low compression). I paid $300 for last real 390 (good running one. Lots of 360's available cheaper |
