 | ford blue paint -- scott, 10/17/2000
Just sort of wondering what brand of engine paint would be closest to being correct for a 67 pass car big block. I have used duplicoler brand "dark ford blue" in the past. Most projects were 70's era cars. The remaining paint on my 67 is lighter than the dark blue paint so I bought a duplicoler shade called "old ford blue" I know that the paint darkens with age but this shade seems way to light. |
| | I was wondering the same thing.. -- T1M, 10/17/2000
I bought a can labeled "old ford blue" that was next to a can of darker blue labled simply "ford blue" so I opted for the former kind. I compared my air filter cover, with the old paint on it, to the the intake manifold, that I just recently had cleaned at a machine shop and painted myself, and there is a bit of a difference. But it's hard to say, maybe it'll darken and look just like it's supposed to after awhile. |

 | Different heads on 390 -- Carlos, 10/17/2000
I have a 390 FE and when trying to get casting numbers, i realized my heads have 2 different numbers on them, the passenger side is(C7EA-H and drivers side is C8AE-A). my question does anyone know if these are the same heads with just different numbers? its it a problem? the engine runs really nice. also the block number is C7ME-A and on the rear of the block there are 2 big numbers 28 and 352. any information on this engine would be greatly appreciated. |

 | New to 352 any ideas? -- Paul Rogers, 10/17/2000
I just acquired a 65 Galaxie xl convertible with an untouched 352 2V. I am thinking of adding a Edelbrock Performer intake with an Edelbrock 4V carb, Flowmaster mufflers, performance breather and Accel ignition stuff. Is there anything else in the bolt-on arena that I should be considering to give this boat some spunk? |

 | Locating an Intake Manifold Valley Pan -- Prof. A., 10/16/2000
I recently had the intake maniford off for some polishing on my 390. The Intake manifold pan has a large section missing from the front. Looks like the prior builder could not locate an intact pan. Does anyone know where I can locate a new pan? I would appreciate some help. |
| | Maybe. Which intake is this, exactly? [n/m] -- Mr F, 10/17/2000

 | compression ratio -- antperros, 10/15/2000
I have a 390 bored .060 over. I have trw forged flat top pistons and a felpro permatorque head gasket. Does any one know the cc's of the valve releifs and the dimensions and compressed thickness of this gasket. |
| | RE: compression ratio -- KarlJay, 10/19/2000
The head gasket is probably about 10cc and the valve releifs are about 5.5. you'll probably end up with 10:1 or 10.5:1 Just about the limit of prem gas. |

 | Cam Research/MPG Head Service--OPINION -- Mark Piechowski, 10/14/2000
I was wondering if anyone here has had a problem with service from Cam Research/MPG Head Service? I am not writing this post to bash this company, but I have had my intelligence insulted and haven't been treated the way a customer should be, too many times. I have purchased parts from and talked with Scott Main numorus times, and many times I have found that he doesn't give me strait answers or good advise and a couple times just blatantly lied to me. Best Tech Line in the business?--I think NOT! He has also sent me bottom line parts when I payed for quality ones. I just feel I have been taken advantage of. I have spent over a few thousand dollars with this company and referred several people who have made purchases also. I just don't understand why he wouldn't hold true to his word. I think he has some great ideas and products, but I have to take my business elsewhere. Please let me know your opinion of Cam Research/MPG Head Service. I sure hope the experience I had isn't farmiliar to anyone else. Mark Piechowski |
